I’ve been wanting to try my hand at making soap for a while. I’ve never made it before. The way I did it was so simple that anyone can do it. Check out my simple and easy tutorial for making your own melt and pourGoats Milk Soap!

Oatmeal 1/2 cup

melt and pour goats milk soaplike this one2 LB PREMIUM GOATS MILK GLYCERIN MELT & POUR SOAP BASE NATURAL PURE ORGANIC. You can get it at your local Hobby Lobby or Michael’s and use their 40% off coupon. Those are usually not organic.

essential oils (I used vanilla bean) 20 drops

Cut the lines of the soap and put into glass bowl. Microwave on high for 2 minutes until completely melted and no chunks. Took me about 4 or 5 times.

Once done stir in oatmeal and essential oils.

Pour into a soap mold or just do like I do and pour it into a silicone muffin pan. Makes the cutest little soap molds. I also had the cutest little soap maker.

Melt and pour soap recipe is so simple!

Let set. In about an hour and a half it was close to done. I let it set another few hours then popped them right out. I used mine that night. My daughter used hers the next day. I love that I know what’s going into my soap and that it has less chemicals. It makes me feel like I’m doing as much as I can to get fragrance and chemicals out of my house. Have you made soap? Did you use a melt and pour or use a recipe? What other recipes would you like to see? Leave me a comment!

I have a question…I used a lardy cake recipe to make a kitchen soap with coffee…I used the recommended amount of lard 16 oz and 5oz of h2o and 2 oz of lye…however the soap does not seem to b setting… they are still too greasy and I was wondering if i melt them down agian and add say another oz of lye to 3oz of water and then blend in with original batch if that would help the saponification process. What r your thoughts? Thank u in advance

I’m really not sure. I’ve never made a soap with actual lard and lye. I hope you get it figured out.
