How To Make Poor Man’s Beefy Ramen Noodle Soup in a Crock Pot
Aunt Lou here.
A while back I started playing around with using ramen noodles in crock pot recipes. One of our readers, Laura, asked about using ground beef with ramen noodles. So, I gave it a try and now you have this yummy recipe!
Generally, when using ground beef in a crock pot recipe, yes, I cook it ahead of time either on the skillet or with our Crock Pot Make Ahead Ground Beef. The reason for this is that ground beef generally has lots of grease to drain off it when is cooked. So, instead of having the grease in the recipe, I drain it off after cooking it in the skillet. However, the time in the crock pot is not wasted. The time spent cooking in the crock pot is giving the ingredients time to meld together to give you the delicious flavor at the end. You are going to love it!
If your slow cooker cooks hot like my 4 quart unit does, then you will be more on the 1 hour time line. If your slow cooker doesn’t heat up very much in an hour, it will be closer to 2 hours. As always, watch the recipe closely the first time you make it so you can know the exact timing for your specific unit.

Ingredients Needed
- 1 lb ground beef, cooked and drained
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 oz brown gravy packet

I haven’t tried adding any veggies to this. It will depend on what kind of veggies you want to add. This had a pretty quick cooking time, so you might want to opt for veggies that cook up quickly or add drained canned vegetables. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!
