Using the Flood Zone Tool

  • You can adjust the red pin marker to the exact location of the building.
  • Then click Get Flood Report.

Flood Report

The flood report includes:

  • Whether your address is in or outside a flood zone.
  • If in a flood zone, the flood zone code and description.
  • The Base Flood Elevation, if provided by FEMA.
  • The map panel effective date.
  • The map panel number.

Starting around 2000, FEMA has been updating flood zone maps around the country to a new version called Digital Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFIRM). In Florida, all counties have been updated.

  • BFE = Base Flood Elevation.

Description
DFIRM is a digital version of FEMA's new updated Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM). FEMA is engaged in a multi-year process to update all FIRMs in the US.

Flood zone maps show areas that have a 1% annual chance of a flood event (100-year flood zone) and areas that have a 0.2% annual chance of a flood event (500-year flood zone). This map layer is from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
