Taking a moment to share about my recent career transition and how excited I am to be starting at CBRE in retail advisory services. I’m joining an incredible team and fortunate for opportunity to work alongside and learn from Kristen Crossman and David LaPierre. Having spent this first part of my career working in retail technology and analytics, I’m excited to take what I’ve learned and join the world of retail real estate leasing in NYC. Combining my passion for working with retailers, experience in retail analytics, and love for my home here in NYC, I’m thrilled for this opportunity and what’s to come. I am incredibly grateful to all the individuals who took the time to share their experiences while I explored and pursued this career transition. Thank you for all the guidance and support, and I look forward to finding ways to give it back in whatever way I can!

I just celebrated my 2 year anniversary last month at Salem Capital. It's amazing how time flies since my time at Truist. I've accomplished many goals since my departure (too many to count, lol!) and very excited about the future. I've certainly come a long way and learned/ developed a lot in the process. I would encourage anyone who is thinking about a career change - whether large or small (mine was quite dramatic) - to not limit themselves or let the fear of the unknown set you back. Sometimes you have to be aggressive and take risks to find the reward at the end of the tunnel. It can be very daunting and intimidating when you start the journey, but sometimes you have to break out of normalcy & complacency to open new doors and break through the proverbial glass ceiling. Who Moved my Cheese is a great book, but sometimes just adapting to change is not enough when you are not fully realizing your potential or the maze is presenting walls that are limiting your future professional development/career growth. Sometimes you have to make moves & changes yourself to tap into and realize your true next level of potential - only then will you be able to be fully gratified and rewarded in your career. I know too many people who are reluctant to change employers or make dramatic career changes as everyone says "the grass is not always greener on the other side." That kind of complacency is what limits many people in careers and professional life and I would encourage anyone to "think and dream big." "Do or do not, there is no try" is a great quote and sometimes you have to do personal transformative things and take risks to achieve the seemingly unattainable.

I am thrilled to announce my return from an enriching sabbatical that has left me feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and charged with fresh perspectives! 🌞✨During my time away, I had the privilege of broadening my horizons, gaining mastery in areas like SaaS dynamics, sales methodologies, effective coaching, persuasive negotiation techniques, and novel viewpoints that have revitalized my perspective and career. This period of immersion and reflection has allowed me to recharge my creative energies and fortify my passion for what I do. As I embark on the next phase of my journey, I have honed crucial skills, and subsequently coached managers and executives, including active listening, empathetic engagement, continuous improvement through feedback loops, instilling trust in your people through empowerment, and the strategic utilization of diversity. My consulting endeavors further enriched my sales toolkit with projects that focused on aligning business models with the optimal GTM approach. Steering towards driving impact delivery, innovative approaches to customer relationship management, customer success strategies, harnessing the insights gained from data analytics, optimizing pricing, scalability blueprints, and defining and executing cross-selling and upselling techniques. Suppose you are contemplating integrating a recurring revenue model, expanding into the complex Enterprise Market, creating a common revenue language for seamless communication across your sales teams, amplifying conversion rates, or striving to create a compelling compensation framework. In that case, I invite you to connect with me. I specialize in transformative mindset shifts within sales organizations. Thank you again for being a part of my network and sharing my journey. Here's to new beginnings, fresh challenges, and a future full of endless possibilities!

Global Commercial Engagement & Knowledge Lead at dentsu

After 8 years with The TJX Companies, Inc., I am excited to announce that I am moving on to a new opportunity. TJX has played a substantial role in my personal and professional growth; I’ll forever be grateful to work for a company that allowed me space to explore many different projects, roles, and functions. Not so long ago I discovered the term ‘multipotentialite’, which most definitely describes me. After years of criticising myself for not being able to find my ‘one thing’, it suddenly made sense why I loved change, felt agitated if I wasn't learning something new, and why I was always trying to explore all ideas & options at once! A huge thank to you those who helped me embrace the strength in this.I’ve met so many incredible people during my time at TJX. When I think about the pivotal moments in my career, it’s never been the task; it was that conversation that changed my perspective, that question that had me reflecting for days, that talk from someone who’s passion inspired me to take action. I leave TJX not only with a diverse set of skills, but also a clarity on my strengths and the value I add. I know it sounds cheesy (which honestly, I am), but I really have grown into myself. So, what’s next? I’m going to work for dentsu as Global Commercial Engagement and Knowledge Lead, reporting into the brilliant Anthony Groves. I first came across dentsu when I was volunteering for The Prince's Trust, due to their involvement in the Get Hired program. I had a good feeling about them then, as I do now. Everyone I’ve met so far has been wonderful, and I’m very excited about what this new role brings.#multipotentialite #strengths #personalgrowth #careergrowth #newjob

June marks my 6th anniversary of being actively working on my career. Back in 2017, i started my career journey with my first job. Since then, i discovered that growth is what i strive for. Not a day have i spent in those 6 years not thinking of what the next step should be or where i shall head. Along these years, i explored various industries and work scopes. To many, it always represented confusion and unsettlement, yet to me, it just represented a fulfillment to my potential across different paths. After 6 years of working on myself drastically, i can say i am the marketeer, the strategist, the trainer, the creative, the designer, the developer and the visual artist. Every one of these words consumed hours, days and so much effort in both planning and executing. After 6 years, i can proudly say that i worked with more than 40+ companies across different industries from FinTech, F&B, FMCG, Hospitality, Beauty, Automotive, Real Estate, Interior Designing, Furniture Houses, E-Commerce, Entertainment, PropTech, Nutrition, Media Production and Fashion. The projects varied between Multinationals, Corporates, Startups, Agencies, Small Businesses and NGOs. Those 6 years were just the first building block of my journey, and i can’t wait to see what could be coming up next!

Back in 2014, I decided to apply for an internal position at Sainsbury's.The hiring manager expressed concerns about my history of changing roles frequently. He saw it as a risk, assuming I wouldn't stick around for long.Fast forward to 2023, and let me tell you, it's one of the best choices you can make.Long gone are the days when people stayed in the same career for decades until retirement.Unlike 2014, which doesn't feel that distant (maybe I'm getting old), it's now widely accepted to explore different paths. In fact, I highly recommend it!Who can honestly say they've always known exactly what they wanted to do in their careers?I certainly can't, and I bet many others are in the same boat. That's the beauty of a career—it's about experiencing and discovering what you truly enjoy and what doesn't resonate with you. Each step you take should bring you closer to the things that bring you fulfilment. If that means trying out different jobs, then go for it.It's called pivoting. You don't have to make massive career changes every time.Sometimes, small career pivots can make a significant impact. When I applied for that job in 2014, it was still within the retail sector, but it offered better work-life balance benefits. It wasn't perfect, but it was a step in the direction of what I wanted.Despite the manager's initial doubts, he decided to hire me, and I'm grateful for that. So, don't feel like you have to make a colossal, life-altering career move.Instead, why not take a small leap in the right direction? #retail #careerchange #storemanager #jobsearching

It's hard to believe this month marks my fifth year of working for In 2018, I was a relatively fresh graduate and newbie to the workforce, with limited experience under my belt. Joining a team of seasoned experts - each with decades of experience under them, made my imposter syndrome and learning curve feel that much more intimidating and overwhelming. Despite what felt like an incredibly steep learning curve at the time, looking back at it in hindsight, I can wholeheartedly say it was worth it. Everyone I've worked with at the firm has not only welcomed me into the fold, but many of my colleagues have also become friends, role models, and mentors. At every turn, I've been encouraged to ask questions, and have had countless opportunities to raise my hand to gain new skills, expertise, and knowledge. The people at the firm are what have made my experience truly and genuinely exceptional. My first manager has been with the firm since I was in diapers, and my second manager has been with the firm since long before I was even a twinkle in my parents' eyes. In this day and age, that type of longevity is rare. The people I've had the pleasure of working with have taken me under their wing as though I'm one of their own. Not only have they instilled in me crucial professional skills, but they've also taught me how to spread my own wings in life. Even when I haven't believed in myself, they've known when and how to nudge me along the proverbial diving board, and when and how to push me off said diving board and into new opportunities. I am deeply, deeply thankful for the chances they've taken on me, for I wouldn't be where I am today without their support and encouragement. To everyone I've interacted with or encountered at : thank you for touching my life in one way or another. I'm so thankful for the wisdom, guidance, and mentorship you've so generously shared, and that you continue to share. #workanniversary #gratitude #growthanddevelopment

Embracing Uncertainty I was recently laid off from my previous role at Morgan Stanley a little over a month ago. The day that I got laid off, I did not feel scared or worried. I felt excited because this is an opportunity. I dont know where I will end up in my career, but I have always told myself and my friends that we should enjoy the journey. If we just woke up one day and had everything that we ever wanted all at our finger tips, skipped the journeys, the lessons, the lows, then that takes a big meaning out of life. I got calls from friends, ex-coworkers, family expressing their concern and empathy for me. Its just market conditions, etc etc. But to me, I was actually happy. I had more free time to spend doing hobbies that I enjoy. I play more golf, I go to museums, read the things that I enjoy, built a personal website, train my dog, enhance my workouts, and spend more time with the people that I love. At the same time, I am also actively looking for my next role. Although a time like this can be scary, its a great opportunity. An opportunity to pivot my career to pursue something more fulfilling, and more importantly, to spend more time smelling the roses. I know that something greater is out there for me, and there is something greater out there for all of us. We just have to keep our eyes open, be present, and trust your instinct. My instinct is telling me that its going to be okay. Build a website, write insightful articles that reflect my unique way of thinking, play more golf, and smell the roses.#hiringnow #productmanagement #techjobs #jobsearch #careeradvice #agile #innovation #optimist #sustainability #ai #climate #tech
